‘We say ‘Goodbye’ to the intuitive management model’ – the manager of Siko Trans, Kolyo Doynov, shares with Logistika magazine his plans for 2016
In order to achieve the ambitious development objectives we outline in Siko Trans, we should be realists; be aware of the surrounding and dynamically changing world. We are not mistaken by the fact that there is the apparent policy and attitude among the Schengen countries to reject us and make things harder when accessing the business in their states. Nevertheless this motivates us to get more successful and strengthens the imagination and innovativeness of all company employees. The recent saying goes ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’. This is exactly what we did – we took advantage of the ‘Schengen situation’ and established a new department in our enterprise – department for managing critical situations, damages and all types of unforeseen circumstances. The model of this new department proved to be very useful for the successful work of our enterprise in general. We would be very happy if our skills and knowledge are accessible to the entire industry.
In 2015 the Siko Trans manager became a member of the Controlling Board of the Bulgarian Association for Freight Forwarding, Transport and Logistics. We believe that with the assistance and cooperation of the Association we could share the competencies accumulated in our enterprise with other companies.
Another objective we have set for the next year is to develop and introduce new structure within the company. This is large-scale project and we have been working hard on it for several months. The models that we have been using for reconstruction are already established and operating in the European countries. Getting rid of the intuitive management model and the operational ways within the small-sized company is hard and burdensome process. Nevertheless we clearly understand that these are the obstacles development faces, and our conquest is to turn Siko Trans from middle-sized into large company. Why are we doing this? The well-structured organization creates the ideal foundation for improving the quality of the services we render – this would turn us into better and highly demanded partner at the market as well as in better employer. We believe this investment is pledge for Siko Trans’ future sustainable development.
Another large-scale project within the company for the next year is related to our plans to start providing logistic services. In order to make these real, we started building new logistic centre in the area of Sofia airport.
Let us wish a fruitful New Year full of success and incredible achievements!
